Habitat embraces a hand-up, not a hand-out model. Founder Millard Fuller wrote, “what the poor needs is not charity, but capital, not case-workers, but co-workers." We believe people thrive when invited to work alongside us as partners.

When you donate to Habitat for Humanity, you’re providing more than a house; you’re investing in a life-changing opportunity for families to achieve stability, independence, and a brighter future. Homeownership transforms lives in profound ways: it offers families a place of their own where they can grow, thrive, and invest in their futures.

With the security of a home, children have a stable environment for education and development, leading to improved academic performance and lifelong benefits. Parents gain the peace of mind to focus on work, health, and community involvement without the uncertainty of housing insecurity. Each mortgage payment a family makes helps build additional homes for others, creating a ripple effect that strengthens the entire community.

Your donation fuels this transformation by covering essential building costs, materials, and other expenses that keep Habitat homes affordable. By supporting Habitat, you’re not just helping build homes—you’re helping families build strength, stability, and self-reliance that will impact future generations.

Make a lasting impact. Donate to Habitat for Humanity and help us build homes, communities,
and hope.

Support Our Mission: How Your Donation Makes a Difference

Your monetary donations help power essential programs at Habitat for Humanity of Laramie County, including:

  • Home Builds: It costs approximately $141 per square foot to build a Habitat home. Every dollar brings us closer to providing a family with safe, affordable housing.

  • Repairs Program: Our top request is for ramp installations, which are crucial for accessibility. Each ramp costs around $5,000 to install, but this isn’t always covered by grants, making your donations even more vital.

  • Fresh Start Program: In partnership with nine local agencies, we provide vouchers to individuals in recovery, transitioning out of homelessness, or fleeing domestic violence. These vouchers allow recipients to furnish their new homes with items from our ReStore, helping them truly start fresh.

Donating Goods?

Your contributions to the ReStore also make a big impact! Donated items are sold to support the same programs, turning your unwanted goods into homes and hope for local families.
